Dhankaur Devi Convent School Hosts Thrilling Hindi and English Debate Competitions

8/31/2024

On 31/08/2024, Dhankaur Devi Convent School organized two exciting debate competitions, showcasing the oratory skills and critical thinking of our talented students. The competitions, held in both Hindi and English, were a testament to the vibrant intellectual culture at our school.

Hindi Vaas-Vivaad Pratiyogita: A Debate on Freedom

The Hindi debate competition, "Hindi Vaas-Vivaad Pratiyogita," tackled the challenging and thought-provoking topic "क्या मनुष्य को पूर्ण स्वतंत्रता दी जानी चाहिए?" (Should humans be given complete freedom?). Our young debaters passionately explored the various dimensions of freedom, discussing its importance as well as the potential consequences of unrestricted liberty. Their well-reasoned arguments reflected deep thinking and a strong grasp of the subject.

English Debate Competition: Engaging Topics and Strong Arguments

The English debate competition featured students from different houses, each tackling a unique and engaging topic:

  • Varun House: "Homework is good."

  • Inder House: "City vs Village life."

  • Surya House: "Social Media is good."

Each house presented compelling arguments, demonstrating the students’ ability to analyze and articulate their views on these relevant and contemporary issues. The debate was not just about winning but about learning, understanding different perspectives, and enhancing public speaking skills.

Celebrating Our Participants

We are incredibly proud of all our participants. They showed tremendous courage and confidence, standing up to express their views in front of their peers and teachers. Every student, whether they won or not, gained valuable experience and developed essential skills that will benefit them in the future.
